Avoiding instant kills as the Marine:
-------------------------------------
In Multiplayer mode, keep your back against walls to prevent getting
killed instantly by Aliens and Predators.

Getting past ventilation shaft as the Alien:
--------------------------------------------
In Level 3 as the Alien, the Queen will tell you to get to the bottom of
a shaft with a huge fan at the top. When you get close to it, another
Xenomorph will be blown into the fan. If you use your Focus, you can see
two vents on the opposite wall. You can use either of them and safely jump
to it despite the power of the fan. As you continue, you will find more
vents to hide in. Use them to make your way down.

Finding collectibles:
---------------------
While playing as an Alien or Predator, activate your Focus to get
collectibles to appear as flashes on the HUD.

Unlockable Skins:
-----------------
You can unlock additional skins by reaching the following levels:
Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 PC
classic, the all-new Aliens vs. Predator allows players to take the role
of three infamous species: Colonial Marines, Predators and Aliens. The
game features a unique three-way online multiplayer experience, allowing
gamers to battle for survival and the right to be crowned the deadliest
species in the galaxy. Each race will also have its own distinct action-
packed single-player campaign mode, with a storyline that cleverly
interweaves with the other two species' paths.

Set on planet BG-386; a human colonist mining group discovers an ancient
pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the galaxy, a race
of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting
party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs.
Deep inside the ruined pyramid meanwhile, nature's deadliest species
awakes from centuries of hibernation intent on finding new prey.

Features:
---------
* The Colonial Marine's story is an incredible fight against all odds
from horrors lurking in the dark. Surrounded on all sides yet armed
to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanity’s last stand
with the firepower to fight back.

* As the Alien, players will discover what it's like to be the scariest,
most murderous creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse
any surface at lightning speed in order to get close enough to unleash
its deadly claws, tail and teeth.

* A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player an arsenal of
exotic weaponry with which to stalk from the shadows. Earn the greatest
honor by ambushing prey up-close, before butchering them for a gory
trophy kill.

* Play all sides off against each other in a series of unique 3-way online
modes and go tooth-to-claw-to-pulse rifle in the reinvention of one of
multiplayer gaming's defining moments.

Cheat Codes:
------------
Submitted by: joydeep1

You will need to allow hidden files and folders to be shown in order to edit this
particular ".INI" file. Use a text editor to edit the "User.ini" file found in the
following locations:

* Windows XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Bioshock2\"
* Windows Vista: "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Bioshock2\

Set a key binding in the "User.ini" file to any of the following codes (for example,
"F10=god"). Then, press the corresponding key during game play to activate the
corresponding cheat function.
Note: Any active codes are disabled when a new area loads or intermission sequence
plays.

Code Effect
----------------------------------------
god - God mode
igbigbucks - $600
givebioammo - Refill EVE
GiveItem 9999 ShockGame.ADAM - 9999 ADAM
fly - Flight mode
ghost - No Clipping mode
teleport - Teleport to pointer
slomo [0.1 to 9.9] - Set game speed; "1.0" is default

Telekinesis for Free:
---------------------
You can use Telekinesis to pull normal items toward you without using any
of your Eve reserve. Your Eve is only used up when you release the trigger
and throw an item using Telekinesis. This means you can use Telekinesis to
pull items like ammo and first aid kits toward you to grab without wasting
any meter. However, if you grab an item that you've already maxed out,
you'll be stuck holding it with Telekinesis--or releasing the trigger to
throw it and waste your meter.

However, if you pull up the plasmid wheel and select another plasmid attack,
you can release the trigger to drop the item without Telekinesis automatically
throwing it. This way you won't waste any meter dropping an item that you
can't carry. This also works for pulling electrified trip wires out of walls.
Pull the item toward you with Telekinesis and, without releasing the trigger,
pull up the plasmid wheel to select another plasmid. When you close the
plasmid wheel and release the trigger, you'll simply drop the item.
No Eve meter spent.

Rumbler Fumble:
---------------
When you fight a Rumbler -- the Big Daddy with rockets -- use telekinesis
to grab the rockets it fires and turn them back towards it for an easy victory.

Hacking for Loot:
-----------------
When you hack a vending machine, stop the needle in the blue section for free
ammo or a free eve. When you hack a health station with the same strategy to
get a first-aid kit.

Buddy Bots:
-----------
* When security bots appear after an alarm is triggered, hack them and they will
stick around and fight for you. You may want to stun them with an electric
attack first.

* There is an easy way to collect Security Bots to fight with you. First, locate a
Bot Shutdown Panel that is quickly accessible near a vending machine. Hack the
vending machine, but stop the pointer on the red to activate the Security Bots
to come for you. Quickly run to the Bot Shutdown Panel and throw the switch.
Then, locate a deactivated Security Bot and hack it. That Bot is now aiding you.
Note: You can only have two Security Bots aiding you at one time.

Weapon Upgrade stations:
------------------------
Weapon Upgrade stations can be found at the following locations.

1. Ryan Amusements: Going to get the ticket.
2. Ryan Amusements: After the family display, through the door.
3. Pauper's Drop: From Journal 039, go out the door, down the stairs.
4. Pauper's Drop: In the back of skid row, in the limbo room. It will be behind.
the stage.
5. Pauper's Drop: After breaking into hotel, when you are going through the halls,
you will go through a hole. To your left you will see a blue sheet. To the right
is the station.
6. Siren Alley: In Mermaid Lounge, go upstairs hack the gate. Drop through a hole
in the floor.
7. Siren Alley: Just before Pump station 5.
8. Dionysus Park: Behind the door, combination 1080.
9. Dionysus Park: On the path to the train.
10. Fontaine Futuristics: After you destroy the flying Gil bot, you can enter where
you get access to laboratory.
11. Fontaine Futuristics: After you turn on the lights, it will be in the bottom of
the holding cells area.
12. Persephone Outer: On your left.
13. Inner Persephone: After you gain access to Sinclair look back in the room.
14. Inner Persephone: Just after ward B in the room with the rocket turret.

Alternate endings:
------------------
There are six alternate endings: rise to surface (good and evil), abandoned (good and
evil), and the standard ending (good and evil).

-=Good endings=-
* Rescue all Little Sisters that you dealt with and spare Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole,
or Gilbert Alexander.
* Rescue all Little Sisters That you dealt with and kill Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole,
and Gilbert Alexander.

-=Standard endings=-
* Rescue at least one Little Sister and harvest at least one Little Sister. Choose to die
at the end and spare Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole, and Gilbert Alexander.
* Rescue at least one Little Sister and harvest at least one Little Sister. Choose to die
at the end and kill Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole, or Gilbert Alexander.

-=Bad endings=-
* Rescue at least one Little Sister and harvest at least one Little Sister. Choose to live
at the end and spare Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole, and Gilbert Alexander. Alternately,
harvest all Little Sisters that you dealt with and spare Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole,
and Gilbert Alexander.
at the end and kill Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole, or Gilbert Alexander. Alternately,
harvest all Little Sisters that you dealt with and kill Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole,
or Gilbert Alexander.

Easy Security research:
-----------------------
Locate a hackable vending or health machine next to or near a Bot Shutdown Panel. Hack
the machine and stop the pointer on the red to activate the Security Bots to come for you.
Quickly turn and snap the camera on one then shut them down at the panel. The disabled bot
is still highlighted by the research camera and you can research Security easily.

Wait for a Splicer to trip an alarm, causing two security bots to show up. Start rolling
the Research Camera on one bot while it's killing the splicer and then shoot at it with
one of the rapid fire weapons like the machine gun or the rivet gun. This should yield
600-800 research points per bot and there's no risk involved. Note: The fire ammo for the
shotgun incurs massive bonuses for research, so zapping a Splicer and then hitting it with
a few rounds repeatedly can yield up to 1100 research points depending on which Splicer
and which research tonics one is using.

Easy XP in Multiplayer mode:
----------------------------
Have a friend join your game while it is in progress on any team-based game, putting him
or her on the other team. Find a turret anywhere in the map, and make sure there is nobody
around. You and your friend can hack the turret back and forth for 10 XP per hack. Repeat
this as many times as desired.

Defeating Big Sisters:
----------------------
Before you fight the second Big Sister (if you are harvesting ADAM but saving the girls),
you will get an Enrage Plasmid. There are two bodies to scrounge ADAM from. One is more
easily securable, which has a security camera, a rocket launcher bot, and a large puddle
of water in this area. The Big Daddy comes back multiple times. If you drop off the little
girl in her hole near here, you can wait for the Big Sister to show up. Then, enrage the
Big Daddy so that he will take on and kill the Big Sister.
Your only concern will be Splicers and the Big Daddy after he is done with the Big Sister.

Door codes:
-----------
Enter one of the following codes to open the corresponding door.

-=Adonis Luxury Resort=-
Door near rubble with code written backwards on glass: "1540"

-=Pauper's Drop=-
The Clinic: "0047"

-=Siren Alley=-
Maintenance Area: "1919"

-=Dionysus Park=-
Power of the People Machine door: "080"

vFontaine Futuristics=-
Plasmid Theater: "5254"

-=Inner Persephone=-
Watch Tower: "2673"
Recreational Therapy: "4146"

Easy "9-Irony" achievement:
---------------------------
After you get your first Little Sister in Ryan Amusements, she will take you back into
the main hall of Ryan Amusements to collect Adam. While she is collecting Adam, Splicers
will attack, breaking down the door to the next part of the level. After going through the
door, there will be a desk on the left with an animatronic Andrew Ryan sitting behind it,
and near a cabinet behind him is a golf club. Use Telekinesis to pick up the club, then
shoot it at the Andrew Ryan animatronic to get the "9-Irony" achievement.

Anomalies:
-----------
You can find anomalies when scanning the following planets:

Titan Nebula Haskins Capek

Infinite M-920 Cain:
--------------------
After initially firing the M-920 Cain you can keep holding down on the fire button while
hitting reload after every shot. The shots will keep firing during the previous shots'
explosions (within about 2-3 seconds of each other). Remember: the blast can harm you and
your squad mates!

Easter Egg: Probing Uranus:
---------------------------
Head to the Local Cluster and scan Uranus. The first two probes you launch will result
in "unusual" statements from EDI.

Party member Loyalty skills:
----------------------------
Successfully complete a party member's Loyalty mission to unlock their individuals skills
for Shepard. Note: Complete the Advanced Training research upgrade for your ship to be
able to select the skills.

Armor Piercing Ammo: Archangel's Loyalty mission
Biotic Barrier : Jacob's Loyalty mission.
Dominate : Kill Samara during her Loyalty mission and have Morinth replace her.
Fortification : Grunt's Loyalty mission.
Geth Shield Boost : Legion's Loyalty mission.
Inferno Grenade : Zaeed's Loyalty mission.
Neural Shock : Mordin Solus's Loyalty mission.
Reave : Samara's Loyalty mission.
Shield Drain : Tali's Loyalty Mission.
Slam : Miranda's Loyalty mission.
Warp Ammo : Jack's Loyalty mission.

Romancing the Yeoman:
---------------------
If you chat it up with Yeoman Kelly Chambers often and choose to be kind to her you can
instigate an "unusual" romantic encounter. You'll eventually be able to invite her to dinner.
Additionally, you cannot let Kelly die in the final mission (choose a loyal escort for the
crew in the final scene). After you beat the game, talk to Kelly and you'll receive an email
from her. Go to your quarters and you'll be able to invite her up using your console. She'll
appear and you'll be able to watch the evening's awkward events unwind. She's no Yeoman Rand,
but she'll do.

Legion Does the Intergalactic Shuffle:
--------------------------------------
Approach Legion in his quarters and highlight him but do not talk to him. He'll do "The
Robot," the traditional dance of his ancestors.

Double Your Hacking Rewards:
----------------------------
Occasionally, after completing a hacking minigame for credits etc. you can press A repeatedly
as the window closes and cause the game to glitch out and let you hack a second time -- for
another chunk of credits! We've confirmed that this is rare, but it does work -- so get in
the habit of mashing.

Have Dominate ability and keep Samara alive:
--------------------------------------------
Dominate is a very useful Biotic ability that allows you to control organic enemies and turn
them into allies, similar to the Hack ability that controls synthetics. In order to get this
ability as a Loyalty mission bonus to use for your character, you must help Morinth kill
Samara during the latter's loyalty mission. However, if you wish to keep Samara on your team
but still have Morinth's Dominate ability, use the following trick. Play Samara's loyalty
mission up to the point where Samara confronts Moritnth. Save the game immediately before
the confrontation. When it is time to choose who you will eliminate, choose the option that
lets Morinth get the upper-hand on Samara and kill her. Create a separate saved game file.
Go to the ship and talk to Morinth. Load the previous saved game then have Samara kill Morinth.
You now get to keep Samara as a squad mate and have Morinth's Dominate ability when you choose
a bonus loyalty power to add to your character in the prototype upgrade screen.

Legion: Unusual dialog:
-----------------------
* Take Legion to the Citadel. Talk to Anderson and the customs officer.
* Take Legion to the migrate fleet on Tali's Loyalty mission.
Security will force you to remove him unless you can persuade them otherwise.
* Take Legoin to recruit Tali. She will try to shoot him.

Unlimited Ammo, no reload and more live:
----------------------------------------

Edit C:\Programm Files\Team JPN\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\Config\PC\Cooked\Coalesced.ini and replace:

AmmoPerShot=1 to =0 ;This make NO RELOAD
and every bInfiniteAmmo=true to =false ;This make INFINITE AMMO.
and Health=1500 to =9500 ;More health but with this ammo, can be hurt you...?

* First, BACKUP the file! some changes produces game failure.

Max Out Skill Points:
---------------------
To do this you'll need to have the Dominate skill, the Retrain Powers and Advanced Training
upgrades and tons of Element Zero. You can get the Dominate Skill by recruiting Morinth
(Samara's daughter), which means you have to sacrifice Samara in her own loyalty mission. A
list of planets with Element Zero can be found below. First, purchase Advanced Training and
choose Dominate. This will land you a bonus skill point, which you can use by instituting
the Retrain Powers upgrade. Repeat this process for additional skill points; one at a time!

Prequel bonuses:
----------------
Have a saved game file from the original Mass Effect and use that profile in Mass
Effect 2 to get the following bonuses.

100,000 credits : Mass Effect character with the "Rich" achievement.
2,000 experience points : Level 50 Mass Effect character.
30,000 credits : Level 50 Mass Effect character.
5,000 of each resource : Level 50 Mass Effect character.
4,000 experience points : Level 60 Mass Effect character.
50,000 credits : Level 60 Mass Effect character.
10,000 of each resource : Level 60 Mass Effect character.

Baldur's Gate series reference:
-------------------------------
Space Hamster is available on Illium. Once you go into your cabin and select him, he will
come out and do the same "Squeek" that Boo did, who was Minsc's "Intergalactic Space Hamster"
from Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2.

Infinite YMIR Mechs:
--------------------
(Unconfirmed) When you reach the point in the Freedom's Progress mission where you are told
to place your teammates around the giant blast door, you can trick the game into spawning
extra YMIR Mechs (Ed: But why would you want to ... ?). First, position your team accordingly,
and watch the cutscene. You'll now be confronted by a Giant YMIR Mech. Instead of killing it,
turn around, and head BACK through the blast door. This will glitch the game back before the
cutscene. Place your team around the blast door again, and the cutscene will play. This will
spawn an extra YMIR Mech. Repeat as many times as you wish, but more than three YMIR Mechs
will most likely kill you!

Gameinfo:
---------
The second chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy takes you to the darkest
reaches of space, where you must uncover the mystery behind the
disappearance of humans across many worlds. Prepare yourself for a suicide
mission to save mankind. Travel the galaxy to assemble a team of soldiers
and combat specialists, and launch an all-out assault on the heart of enemy
territory.

Conceived as a trilogy, the sequel to Mass Effect promises another epic
intergalactic tale of planetary exploration, civil conflict, challenges of
conscious, and perhaps even romantic entanglements. In this dark second
chapter, Saren's evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and
humans, who are still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage,
are now faced with an even greater peril.

Gain Levels:
------------
In the first scene, when you're getting the tour with the scrap robot, follow him
all the way through to the small campsite with the car up on the lift next to the
burning tires. Collect all the loot (guns, money) along the way and kill all of the
guys. Once everyone is dead simply pause the game and go to exit. It will save your
character (level & loot) and start you at the very beginning upon loading your game.
You can repeat this as many times as you'd like!

Reload Quickly:
---------------
Watch your reload animation. As soon as the cartridge is removed (or rounds are being
inserted), perform a melee and the gun will finish reloading. Do this to save time and
possibly your life.

Claptrap locations:
-------------------
The Claptraps can be found at the following locations:

1. Sledge's Safehouse
2. The Lost Cave
3. New Haven
4. Tetanus Warren
5. Earl's Scrapyard
6. Krom's Canyon
7. Old Haven
8. Trash Coast
9. The Salt Flats
10. Crimson Fastness

Critical hits:
--------------
It is important to try to get critical hits on enemies so you kill them quicker and get
additional XP. To get a critical hit on a human, shoot it in the head. If you use a sniper
rifle, it will usually kill them instantly. For a Skag, shoot it in the face when its mouth
is open. This varies depending on the type. For the pups, shoot them while they roar at you.
For adults, quickly shoot them while they jump at you. For the spitters, shoot their mouths
while they fire their poison projectile at you. Critical hits are easiest at close range
with a shotgun or scattergun.

Item Storage using an Alternate Character:
------------------------------------------
An effective, but annoying, way to store your extra stuff is to create an alternate character
that is only for holding your extra stuff. Just create a new character, load a co-op game
with both your main character and your new level 1 character and give them the items you want
to put up. Log back in to your level 1 character and give the items back to your main character
when you need them. This can be really useful when you find weapons and items that are above
your level, or are saving them to give to a friend's character.

Duplicate Items:
----------------
To make a copy of any item you'll need a cooperative partner in a multiplayer game. Simply
drop what you want to make a copy of on the floor, exit the game without saving, leaving
your friend free to grab it. When you return, you'll have your copy of the weapon still,
and your friend can hand you the other. This works on all guns, shields, and class mods,
and can be done as many times as necessary.

Easy Escape After Defeating Sledge:
-----------------------------------
After you've defeated Sledge (and collected the artifact), exit and save your game. When
you start you're game again you'll begin at the save point at the very beginning of the
mission. This way you don't have to backtrack on foot and you'll save a lot of ammo too.

Berserker Speed Exploit:
------------------------
Make sure you're in a fight with more than one enemy and your health is extremely low
(10-20). Activate Berserker just before you enter Fight For Your Life! Mode, then kill
someone to gain a Second Wind. If done properly, you should be able to run as fast as
Brick can in Berserker mode AND you'll be able to fire your weapons. Note: you're not
able to sprint while using this, but why would you need to anyway?
Activating his Berserker mode again and finishing it, OR dying will cancel the effect.

Extra item space:
-----------------
Create a new "bank" character for use in Co-op mode. When you want to store an item,
start a Co-op game with your main character and the "bank" character. Transfer the items
to be stored to the "bank" character until you need them, then transfer them back.

New Haven: Secret vendor:
-------------------------
Notice the garage door across from the normal weapons vendor in New Haven. There is a
hidden vendor behind it. To get the door to open, try fast travelling to the gun machines
in New Haven, Rust Commons West, and Middle of Nowhere. Return to New Haven and the garage
door might be open.

"Bandit Treasure" quest:
------------------------
Fast travel to Old Haven and follow the left wall after you get in to reach a pile of dead
bandits. Notice the glowing bandit or glowing key nearby that starts the quest.

Unlimited guns and money:
-------------------------
Find a respawning weapons case. For example, in New Haven, there are five weapon crates
that respawn every time you load the game. Three are on the roofs (above the truck stop,
west staircase over the bar, and above the west gate -- jump from canopy). The repaired
claptrap opens another crate behind some steel plates, and there is one more weapon crate
north east behind a junk hill under a large canvas canopy. Note: There are a few bandits
and aliens that spawn here. Collect the contents of the crates, quit the game, resume and
collect them again. Repeat this until you get your desired weapon and sell the excess
guns to get as much money as desired.

Treacher's Landing: Barrel scene:
---------------------------------
Go to Treacher's Landing, then the secret dock in the southeast. Shoot the yellow barrel
to the right of the dock. Then, shoot the green barrel in the far trash pile to the east
of the boat. Shoot one of the blue barrels on the boat. Finally, shoot the red barrel in
the water to the left of the boat.

Pulp Fiction reference:
-----------------------
The names of the ships in "That Sinking Feeling" mission are Righteous Man, Great Vengeance,
and Furious Anger. Each of those names is found in the biblical lines quoted by Samuel L.
Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction.

Demigod Mode (Invincibility):
-----------------------------
Go to My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\ and open WillowGame.ini. Search
for "bDemiGodMode" (without quotes) and change it to bDemiGodMode=true. You'll take damage,
but you'll stay on at least 1 health no matter how long you're getting attacked for.

Easy 20,00 EXP:
---------------
As soon as you are able to get a vehicle, find a safe place away from enemy spawn points
and find a way to keep the trigger held down (tape? rubber band?). Just walk away for a
few hours and after you have unloaded 100,000 shots from the vehicle you will get 20,000
exp.

Quick Money and Items:
----------------------
Want purple and orange items without having to kill a single enemy? Once you get to "New
Haven," head to the save/transport post near "Scooter" and save your game. Then, there
are 2 red chests and 3 silver chest in town...4 of them on rooftops, and one that the
claptrap rescue opens for you. Just loot them all, keep what you want, sell what you don't
want and then save your game. Log off, then log back in to repeat the process. Check all
the vending machines each time as they will offer great items as well.

Here is a rundown of the loot route from at the save/transport post near Scooter:

-=Red Chest #1 =- On the roof of the building directly right of the save post. Go to the
side with the yellow barrel, jump few times and you are there.

-=Silver Chest #1 =- From the save post, turn directly left and go up the stairs, keep going
in the same direction, cross the wood plank and then jump the railing to the other building.
Turn a slight right around the corner.

-=Red Chest #2 =- from Silver Chest#1...some tricky jumps, but not too hard. Simply look out
to the red tarp hanging over a little platform and make a running jump to land on the tarp.
Then turn around till you see the Red Chest, make another jump (not too high or you will
get caught on the red tarp over the chest and fall off).

-=Silver Chest #2 =- After completing the Claptrap Rescue this Silver Chest will be in a
little shed across the courtyard from the Bounty Board (you just have to crouch to get
in there).

-=Silver Chest #3 =- From the save post go forward and go up the stairs where the dollar
sign and arrow are. Hop on top of the washing machine, then on top of the roof with
the big antenna. The Silver Chest is behind it.

Defeating "The Destroyer" Boss:
-------------------------------
This creature is from another dimension and is massive with a health level to match. This
creature is a mountain of flesh with several tentacles that can re-spawn as the battle
progresses. It has a blue-lighted cave that seems to be its eye. Most of the tentacles have
large glowing orbs about halfway down their length. Shooting the orbs will destroy the
tentacles. Start the battle by running toward the creature and then hiding behind a pillar
that is located to the right or left just out of range for the tentacle's reach. From here,
take out all but one tentacle that you can see easily from that point. Destroy the ones you
cannot see easily by peeking around and taking shots at the orbs, but return to your hiding
point. This pillar will shield you from missile-like attacks, and later from the eye that
shoots a beam weapon. If you get reduced to zero health, you can take out one of the orbs on
the tentacle that you can see easily to be revived before you get killed and have to respawn.
It is like killing another enemy. This is the reason why you must keep one tentacle. If you
do get killed, the creature recovers all health but you will respawn in front of the creature.
Once again, you can run to your pillar of protection hiding place. A few times in the battle,
the tentacles will spawn and you have to take them out again. The tentacles are the source
for the missile-type weapon it attacks with. As you reduce the number of tentacles it also
reduces the about of missiles flying at you. With the tentacles nearly gone, you can now focus
your attack at the mouth/tongue and its eye for the critical shot. Continue this process when
the tentacles respawn. Having weapons that have unlimited ammunition or having ones that
create ammo is very useful with the large amount of health level that this Boss has.

Unlimited pistol ammunition:
----------------------------
The pistol that regenerates ammuntion can be use to gain ammo for any pistol. Equip the
regenerating pistol to build up ammunition, then switch to any other pistol.

Easy experience:
----------------
Successfully complete the game. Make sure you are about level 40 with your first character.
Start a split screen game with a new character that you want to level up quickly. Find a
location with lots of enemies that are easy to kill (for example, the lost cave with the
crabs and leveled up Skags). Make sure your high level character was saved in the area you
wish to go to, and load them as the host with the other character as the second player.
Leave them by the new-u station and go to town with your high level character. Your other
character will gain levels almost instantly. This begins to slow down about the mid to high
level 20s, but you will be able to level them up to about level 35 relatively quickly. When
start a single player game with the lower character, you will start out with an extremely
high level character and be able to play through the game easily and collect more loot.
This is a great way to make many different characters.

More Inventory Slots:
---------------------
Go to the game folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\Gearbox Software\Borderlands\
WillowGame\Config) and open DefaultGame and look for this:
InventorySlotMax_Misc=X
Change X to your desired amount of slots (default 12)

Elemental Effects:
------------------
In Borderlands some weapons have an elemental effect. These are usually very useful but
there are drawbacks. Enemies might have special resistant shields or an elemental animal
will naturally resist what you shoot it with. Here is a rundown of each elemental effect:

-=Fire=- When you tag an enemy with fire they take gradual damage until they die or it
goes out. Fire damages enemies more if they're shield is gone. Additionally, enemies tend
to freak out and lose accuracy when burning.

-=Shock=- Shock damage is like the reverse of fire. It deals an incredible amount of damage
to an enemy's shield but loses effectiveness once they're down to their health meter. Also,
enemies don't usually panic when shocked.

-=Acid=- Possibly the best all-around element. Acid damage easily eats through armored
opponents (like Spiderants and Crimson Lance soldiers) and can spread to multiple enemies
if they happen to touch each other while panicking. The only drawbacks to it are that Acid-
type enemies are about 90% immune to it and if you try Iron-sight aiming the acid splash
from your gun-muzzle can throw off your aim.

-=Explosive=- Not so much an element as a bonus. Randomly when you shoot an enemy with a
bullet from an explosion-type gun it will explode and deal extra damage relative to the
weapon's base damage. Try to aim for groups.

-=Eridian=- Whenever you find an Eridian weapon try shooting an enemy. Sometimes extra
effects not mentioned in the description will occur. The 10101 Cannon is a good example
of a Shock/Explosion combination element.

Faster Firing Rate:
-------------------
Weapons with exceedingly slow firing rates (i.e. powerful sniper rifles) can be made less
laggy if you melee after each shot. This will reset the firing rate timer, allowing you
to instantly fire again.

Rider Sniper Rifle:
-------------------
In New Haven there there are two hidden chests. When you recieve the quest to enter Trash
Coast, head to New Haven. Head toward the blue shack (below the area where the repair kit
is). Stand near the door and it will open. Ride the elevator down and to the basement.
Defeat the Psychos and open the red chest to find the Rider. Rider is a unique sniper
rifle manufactured by Gearbox, the maker of Borderlands. This weapon, along with other
details in the room (a trash pile Christmas tree and a grisly leg lamp) are references to
the movie "A Christmas Story."

Sucker Born Every Minute Achievement/Trophy:
--------------------------------------------
The description for the Sucker Born Every Minute Achievement/Trophy says "Paid for a
worthless tour of the world's largest bullet." Go go the huge bullet and there should be
a building closest to the bullet. There will be arrows pointing to a box with a $ sign
on it. Simply activate the prompt here to get the Achievement/Trophy.

Easy 20,00 EXP:
take out all but one tentacle that you can see easily from that point.

InventorySlotMax_Misc=X

Frequently broken copy protection scheme requires constant Internet access High price point Some additions are a little contrived.

Assassin's Creed II is a gorgeous and impressive piece of work, unfortunately undercut by a few notable issues that intrude on the fun. Developer Ubisoft Montreal has addressed many of the original's flaws by filling its follow-up with fresh and enjoyable mission types while still retaining the joy of movement and atmospheric wonder that characterized the original. The game's vision of Renaissance Italy is astounding, delivering a world that you will love exploring and a sense of wonder that few games can so joyously deliver. The cohesive story and a terrific new character will draw you in, and traditional platforming sequences and other new additions pile on the fun.

Assassin's Creed II's most unusual attribute, however, is displayed in big letters on the front of the box: "A permanent Internet connection is required to play the game." This requirement wouldn't be so peculiar if it were an online-only multiplayer game, but Assassin's Creed II is a single-player, story-driven adventure. Whenever you play the game, you must sign into an online portal; if you aren't connected to the Internet, you cannot start the game, and if you lose your connection, the game will pause. Even your saved games are stored online, which is a boon if you plan on playing on multiple computers, but seems like an otherwise unreasonable mandate. This is a bold approach to digital rights management--and one that could unnecessarily hinder your enjoyment. If a storm knocks out your Internet connection, you're out of luck; if you want to play games on your laptop during an upcoming airplane journey, cross Assassin's Creed II off the list of possibilities. And even if you maintain a solid connection, you might run into a few problems. Twice we had the game shut down while it was saving, and we ran into short but noticeable delays multiple times while the game attempted to load our profile and download our progress. Other times, our attempted login timed out, or the launcher incorrectly informed us that we had used the wrong username or password. These issues hindered our playtime for hours, and sporadically affected European players for days.

Regardless of your view of this unusual copy protection scheme and the inconveniences it might visit upon you, Assassin's Creed II is still a hugely entertaining and occasionally transcendent experience. Like the first game, it occurs across two timelines: a modern-day chronology starring bartender Desmond Miles, and another featuring one of Desmond's ancestors. When you start the game, you'll catch up with Desmond right where the original left him, though as fans of the original can guess, the Abstergo labs are no longer a safe haven. You'll spend a bit of time with Desmond during the course of the game, though the shoes you most frequently fill are those of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the charmingly impetuous son of a 15th-century Italian banker. Ezio is an instantly likable firebrand, as passionate about family and honor as he is about wine and women. When you first meet him, Ezio is living a carefree life and has not yet donned his assassin's robe, nor is he familiar with the creed. However, Ezio's devil-may-care freedom is soon cut short by murder and betrayal instigated by the assassins' greatest threat: the Templars.

Assassin's Creed's Altair was an interesting character, but only for the stealthy order he represented, not because you ever got to know the man under the white hood. Ezio is far more appealing, for he's not just quick with a secret blade, but he's a fully realized protagonist. He isn't at the mercy of the plot, but rather, the narrative evolves from his need to uncover the truth behind his sorrows. It's the personal nature of the narrative that makes Assassin's Creed II's story more compelling than its predecessor's. The few modern-day segments featuring Desmond pack a lot more punch this time around as well, and the conspiracies driving that story arc become a lot clearer and, as a result, more provocative. The two missions that occur just before the finale, and which were released as downloadable add-ons for the console versions, hinder some of the story's dramatic momentum. However, the ending itself is shocking and memorable, a nice improvement over the original's flaccid conclusion.

Ezio isn't Assassin's Creed II's only headliner. The Italy he inhabits is a character in and of itself, filled with visual and sonic details that infuse the world with life and elegance. The cities you explore--Florence, Venice, and more--are larger and more detailed than the environs of the first game. Citizens go about their daily lives, and they look authentic doing so. Merchants sweep the street in front of their shops; small groups stroll along, making conversation with each other; and courtesans smirk and cajole as you pass by. These folks aren't cookie-cutter character models. They are dressed differently enough from each other and are animated so expressively that it's as if the population would go about its business with or without your presence. More impressive are the cityscapes themselves as they unfold in front of you, inviting you to take in their splendor. This is an incredibly good-looking game: the lighting is sumptuous, the draw distance is vast, and textures are crisp. If you don't have a widescreen monitor, however, take note that the game is letterboxed--that is, black bars will appear at the top and bottom of your display.

Assassin's Creed II's sense of place and time isn't due just to its visuals, however. Its high-quality sound design is equally responsible, delivering a busy-sounding Florence while still allowing the little quips of citizens commenting on your acrobatics to shine through. There's a good variety of such dialogue now, so you won't tire of repeated lines, and because the citizen rescues of the original Assassin's Creed have been excised, you won't hear the monotonous whines of complaining peasants. There are a few scattered audio glitches, particularly during the Bonfire of the Vanities mission toward the end of the game. However, these are small flaws given the overall excellence of the audio presentation. Two aspects of the sound design are particularly noteworthy: the music and the voice acting. The game's splendid orchestral score is subtle and soothing when it needs to be, never intruding on the exploration and never manipulating your emotions with inappropriate musical melodrama. As for the voice acting, it is uniformly excellent. Not only is Ezio voiced with charm and energy, but the surrounding cast is mostly superb--though one particular line delivered by Ezio's uncle Mario might make you cringe.

The greatest beauty of Assassin's Creed II's exquisitely detailed environments is that you can run and jump across the rooftops with ease and climb the tallest towers to get a bird's-eye view of the game's glorious vistas. You control Ezio much as you did Altair, though movement feels a bit tighter and even more fluid than before. The game strikes an excellent middle ground between responding to player input and automating actions like leaping from one surface to the next, so it's simple to leap about the city smoothly without worrying that you're going to plummet to your death on the next hop. You'll still encounter a few awkward moments here and there: simply walking off a ledge onto a rooftop a few feet below can still be bit clumsy, for example. But these moments are few, and in fact, you'll pull off some awesome-looking moves without even trying. If you want to get the most out of your impossible leaps and dives, you'll want to plug in an Xbox 360 controller, which offers a somewhat more fluid experience. However, the keyboard and mouse scheme is a fine alternative, so if you don't have a gamepad lying around, don't worry: You'll have no trouble soaring across the roofs or slinking about hidden tombs.

Tombs are more intricate levels in which you must retrieve an important artifact (and if you collect all of them, you are in for a special treat). Some of them are platforming puzzles of the best kind, in which you must figure out how to get from your starting point to the destination, in the manner of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Ezio can't run on walls like the Persian prince, but he's incredibly agile nonetheless, and swinging and hopping about rafters and chandeliers within the tombs is great fun. A few tombs throw some additional challenges at you, such as a time limit in which to reach your goal. The best tombs, however, are those in which you pursue an enemy but run into obstacles that force you to give chase using an alternate route. The chases are excellent, and they require quick reactions, but not so quick as to be unreasonable. Flawlessly keeping up with your target without breaking your momentum is one of Assassin's Creed II's greatest thrills, and as long as you are paying close attention, you can pull it off on the first attempt.

Of course, Ezio is more than just a talented gymnast without a fear of heights. He's not afraid to shed blood when the time is right, and he's got a number of ways to exact revenge. The dual hidden blades are his best deadly toy in this regard. You can still stealthily pull off a low-profile assassination (sneak up behind a guard and stab him in the neck) or conduct a high-profile kill (pounce on your target and plunge your blade into him in a single, dramatic move). But the best addition to hidden blade kills are double assassinations: Walk between two unsuspecting guards, sink a blade into each of them, watch them crumple to the ground, and keep walking as if you were none the wiser. If you get really enamored with the dual blades, you can hang from a ledge and wait for an enemy to walk above you, stab him, and toss him to the ground below. It's particularly satisfying to do so above the Venetian canals, because the body will splash into the water and then float to the top. Or if you'd rather conduct your bloody business from above rather than below, you can wait for your target to walk below and then assassinate him in one spectacular move.

If you want to take the direct approach instead, you've got more to unsheathe than a basic sword. One of your brand-new combat moves is the ability to disarm an opponent and take his weapon. For a treat, try taking a giant axe from one of the heavily armored guards and planting it in his head, or skewering another with a stolen spear. If you like, however, you can stick with what you've got and simply pick up your fallen foe's weapon off the ground once the skirmish is done. As before, you can toss throwing knives at pesky archers, but Assassin's Creed II also gifts you with a special ranged powerhouse late in the game. Or perhaps you like to play with your victim before it's time to recite the requiem. If so, stab him with your poison blade and watch him stumble about as he tries to gain his bearings before you slice his throat. If that weren't enough, you can purchase improved weapons and armor pieces from blacksmiths scattered around the cities. By the time you are finished, Ezio may be decked out in some impressive-looking gear--and sporting some highly effective weaponry. The essentials of combat remain the same throughout, however: When battle is initiated, you lock onto targets, dance about each other looking for an opening, and time counter moves to pull off a bloody and satisfying kill. Combat isn't difficult, but the addition of larger-scale battles makes it more exciting in this outing. Nevertheless, it's disappointing that enemies still dutifully wait their turn to attack.

Blacksmiths aren't the only vendors willing to take your cash. Assassin's Creed II sports an entire economy. You earn florins by completing missions, looting treasure chests, pickpocketing strangers, or stealing from dead bodies and covered Venetian gondolas. Your main source of income, however, will likely be your uncle's villa, which serves as your base of operations and is a tourist destination. The adage "You have to spend money to make money" is true. You can spend florins on villa upgrades, such as purchasing a brothel or a church, and in turn, the villa will earn more florins from tourists, and you can take the profits from a chest inside the living quarters. You can then use your florins to dye your garb, purchase treasure maps to point out the locations of all those glowing chests, or buy a new pouch to hold more throwing knives. Most importantly, you'll want to visit a doctor, who not only will inform you that a weekly bleeding is part of a healthy lifestyle (yuck), but will keep you stocked in health packs. That's right: Your health does not replenish on its own any longer, so you'll need to make occasional visits to the doctor to replenish your inventory.

If you'd rather just avoid physical damage altogether, you can still keep a low profile, and there are many improvements in this regard as well. You've still got a few old tricks to rely on: benches to sit on and haystacks to hide in, for example. But contrivances of the original (remember Assassin's Creed's scholars, and walking at a snail's pace in prayer?) have been replaced by more natural and sensible mechanics. If you want to blend with the crowds, you can walk into a group of citizens and be automatically hidden. It's fun to move smoothly from one roving group to another and avoid the watchful eye of nearby guards, though there are sadly few occasions when doing so is essential. Or you can slink past guards by hiring a group of courtesans to distract them with their feminine wiles, or by hiring a group of thieves to engage them. You can even throw smoke bombs and use the resulting cover to sneak past. You can still fight your way through most situations, but there's something uniquely satisfying about taking the stealthy approach.

Yet even if you don't often need to be sneaky if you don't wish to be, you'll still need to stay out of the public eye if you can by keeping your notoriety levels low. Notoriety works much as it does in the Hitman games: The more bad deeds you're caught doing, the higher your notoriety levels rise, and the more likely it is that guards will recognize you. If you want to roam the city without worrying about being chased by every group of guards you pass, you can reduce or eliminate your level of notoriety by bribing town criers or by assassinating key guards. The easiest way to reduce your notoriety, however, is to remove the "Wanted" posters that appear whenever your notoriety meter begins to fill. This is one of Assassin's Creed II's more artificial elements, simply because "Wanted" posters appear in places that no guard would ever see. Nevertheless, "Wanted" posters give you another reason to clamber to the rooftops, which is never a bad thing.

The story missions tying all of this exploration and combat together are vastly improved over those of the original, often stringing multiple objectives together and usually making good use of Ezio's skills. Eavesdropping missions are gone completely, and beat-'em-up tasks are mostly optional. Instead, you will be rescuing prisoners, tailing important targets from the rooftops, assassinating wrongdoers, and plenty more. Some of the best missions act as set pieces and often involve Ezio's ever-positive friend, the resourceful Leonardo da Vinci, who will not only upgrade your synchronization (health) bar, but provide you with a few amusing gadgets, like your poison blade and smoke bombs. In one exciting scene featuring your talented comrade, you drive a horse-drawn carriage at a breakneck pace. In another, you take to the skies in one of da Vinci's flying contraptions, using the heat rising from the city's chimneys to stay aloft while kicking archers out of the way. If you thought Assassin's Creed lacked variety, you'll find plenty in the sequel.

Optional tasks are compelling as well. You can still climb to the tops of towers and make a leap of faith into a bale of hay or autumn leaves beneath, and doing so is just as unrealistic and awesome as it ever was. The flags of the original have been replaced by feathers, which tie in to story events early in the game. New missions include assassination assignments retrieved from messenger pigeons and timed rooftop races, which are always enjoyable in a game that makes the simple act of moving from one location to the next such a pleasure. You also run the risk of being pickpocketed, in which case you can chase after the perpetrator and tackle him, taking not just your stolen funds, but the florins of other victims as well. Another intriguing addition is the hidden glyphs you locate on certain buildings by activating your eagle vision. These glyphs tie the story's dual timelines together in an intriguing way and initiate puzzle sequences that in turn unlock short video snippets. The puzzles aren't that great, but the snippets are so weirdly fascinating that you'll want to collect all of them so that you can watch them in sequence. There are enough historical and religious conspiracy tidbits in here to keep you interested, and they're just outrageous enough to delight Dan Brown devotees.

Assassin's Creed II is a fun and beautiful game that gives you the freedom to explore while still offering a focused adventure steeped in atmosphere. It's also an expensive one, retailing at $60, a full $10 more than most PC games sell for at launch. The two additional missions offered as downloads to console owners don't seem reason enough to justify the extra cost--not for a single-player game that has value only if you can connect to the Internet, and only if Ubisoft's servers are working. Yet if these factors don't affect you (and that's a big "if"), you'll probably fall in love with Ezio's escapades. Assassin's Creed II is a picturesque and jubilant romp that will keep you glued to your monitor, marveling at the details that make its historical world such a delight to inhabit.
